A few months ago I scored some Panama Hacienda La Esmeralda Geisha, the real deal. Now to be completely honest, I do not know whether it is Esmeralda “Special”, having come from that particular portion of the farm that caused all the stir in May with green coffee selling for $130 per pound at auction. I do know that it is Hacienda La Esmeralda, and that it is an amazing coffee. I paid a lot but I bought it for personal consumption. I’ve been hoarding it for myself, but I’m finding that it’s all I can do to keep up with cupping samples and new blends as I try to get my inventory tuned up. It’s too fine a coffee to sit around aging, so I’m offering it up here, to you Gentle Reader, at $35 per pound in half pound increments, roasted to your specification or green, same price. You can order at the website, or email me directly if you’re interested, jim at muddydogcoffee dot com. This is an unusual opportunity to experience a very rare coffee.
