OK, I finally got off my backside and started a hobby blog, The Foodwhisperer. My goal is to reduce the number of questionably relevant posts to our coffee company blog, while giving myself an outlet for stuff I feel compelled to write. we’ll see how it goes.
The basic theme of The Foodwhisperer will be taking INGREDIENTS and turning them into FOOD. Not just any ingredients, mind you. I’m talking about basics. Raw fruits, vegetables and meats. Other beautiful, artisan inputs. Stuff that’s hard to deal with. Stuff that takes time, and that many people today have forgotten, or never knew how to do.
I also want a forum to rant about threats to our food freedom. Every day, it’s easy to encounter examples of intrusive, over-reaching government trying to prevent people from buying and consuming the foods they want. The better informed people are, the less chance there is they’ll get away with it.
There will also be other topics of general interest to foodies… book reviews, discussion of iPhone apps, restaurant reviews… the list will be long, I’m sure.
I’m sure there will be some cross-posts between the Muddy Dog Roasting Company blog and the Foodwhisperer blog, as some topics refuse to be easily categorized as one or the other. But hopefully this is a step in the right direction. I’m looking forward to your feedback and participation.
